I really believe that every woman is strong and this gender gap in the Hollywood industry bothers me. However, I have been observing the industry and have noticed that Hollywood is coming a step closer to resolve this issue. Women aren't just side-chicks or supporting actresses anymore! I love to binge watch movies on holidays and what better way to make it worthwhile by watching some really inspiring women centric movies with the holiday spirit. Here is a list of my favorite women-centric movies from the past 2-3 years. These movies had been with me over the very challenging time, the most cheerful moment, as well as the really driven momentum. Source: blogspot #3 JOY (2015)Spanning across four generations, this is the story of Joy, a woman who builds a massive business dynasty and becomes a matriarch figure. From innocence to betrayal, she lives through many stages of her incredible journey to power. Her unwavering strength and determination get her past the lows till she’s on top. With a stellar performance, Jennifer Lawrence adds another feather to her cap. Source: 20th Century Fox #4 LagGIES (2014)Megan is a happy-go-lucky 28-year-old girl who has career goals and lives each day without a worry of her future prospects. At her 10-year high school reunion, she realises that her life hasn’t changed since graduation while her friends embrace adulthood. She goes into panic when her boyfriend proposes marriage and escapes the situation by befriending a 16-year-old teenager, Annika, and moving into her home for a week. There she meets Annika’s single dad who falls for her innocent charm. Soon, Megan discovers that living while lagging might not be the best thing for her. Source: levelbranding #5 Brooklyn (2015)Eilis Lacey is an innocent Irish immigrant who leaves her motherland to seek a new life in America, the land of opportunities. Her bout of homesickness and desperation is soon ended by a romantic venture that encompasses her completely. She adapts to her new surroundings quickly but can’t change a past that still lingers. Eventually, it comes down to one choice that will define her life ahead. Source: Motion Pictures Editors Guild #6 Appropriate BehaviorShirin belongs to a traditional Persian family. Audrey Hepburn, is my favorite actress and fashion icon. I recently bought my copy of 'How to be Audrey' and that book has got me hooked! While reading and applying it in my mannerisms, it got me thinking about my favorite Audery Hepburn looks from her iconic movies.
While every facet of her style was fashionable, the area where she truly shined was in her choice of dresses. It is safe to say that a new dress was Audrey's true vice! She adored wearing the newest trends and certainly made a point to set a few herself. Nearly every movie Hepburn starred in has an iconic dress to go with it. Please let me know if you don't think that these are the top 3 Audrey Hepburn dresses and comment with your favorite dress and reasons to back it up! Here is a list of my top 3 favorites MY FAIR LADY DRESS – ASCOT RIDING OUTFIT
The ostentatious black and white ensemble sported by Eliza Doolittle at the Royal Ascot Races is one of the most unique costumes ever worn by Miss Hepburn onscreen. Renowned English costume designer Cecil Beaton made this extraordinary piece for the actress, who is usually known for his classically cut, timeless silhouettes. Beaton was known for designing in Gigi as well, and is up there with the best of them as a curator of stylish and original designs for film and stage superstars like Audrey.

This exquisite ensemble features layers upon layers of lace ruffles, full sleeves, a mermaid silhouette, black and white striped ribbons, and a larger-than-life-hat topped with flowers. Based on looks alone, no one in the film could’ve guessed that Hepburn’s character wasn’t a born-and-bred member of high society while wearing this outfit. SABRINA DRESS - WHITE with Black Embroidery
The jaw-dropping, strapless, white satin ball gown with black and gold embroidery worn for Audrey’s role in Sabrina also came courtesy of her partnership with Hubert de Givenchy. This organdy gown also has a detachable court train, lined with black ruffles and showcases beautiful floral embroidery, complete with delicate beadwork throughout.

Breakfast at Tiffany's Little Black Dress
The Breakfast at Tiffany’s black satin sheath dress is hands down the epitome of Audrey Hepburn’s individual brand of glamour. When you imagine the actress, this is the dress that you think of her wearing.
This piece, also masterminded by Givenchy, has become her trademark. This sleek, polished silhouette of this gown is particularly remarkable, especially on Hepburn’s slender and delicate figure. The half-moon shape of the neckline of the back of this dress gives the perfect frame for the oversized pearls she draped around her neck to accessorize. The character in the dress was the one-and-only Holly Golightly, now the timeless characterization of feminine allure and strength. Without the dress, her impact on audiences across the world, then as well as today, would surely have been different. 12/13/2016 0 Comments FUN & FLORICK IN NAPA VALLEYNapa Valley is not only a place with majestic views, Michelin starred restaurants, and myraid lux wineries but also a place for events that include concerts, farmers markets, grand tastings, wine release parties and annual events. 11/16/2016 0 Comments SisterhoodImage Source - goo.gl/zxk9i2 I’ve never had a sister. During my childhood, I had friends who I called sisters, like many in my situation would do. We shared secrets, outfits and spent endless time talking about our crushes. Although we grew out of the teenage phase, I’m still enamored by the idea of sisterhood. Image Source - brandymelvilleusa.com We are the 21st century women and represent all shapes, sizes, colors, ages, sexual orientations, socioeconomic classes, and religions but we have two things in common, womanhood and the right to choose who we want to be with. True sisterhood cannot be forced. It is has to be developed with interest, patience, reciprocity and over time. Not every woman will be your best friend, nor should she be invited to be in your inner circle, but every woman is deserving of your respect and support when you are able to provide it. Love can be shared. It is easy for sisterly love to thrive within all our female friendships. Let’s all explore self-discovery through sisterhood connections and communities, spirituality, self-care, and self-expression. Afterall, life throws ridiculous things at us but, we’re all in this together because none of us really know what we’re doing. 11/1/2016 0 Comments BEST DRESSED - WOMEN IN POWERSince the elections are round the corner, and I am a Hillary Supporter, I would like to give a shout out to all women making it big in power roles. From professional political fixers to tough lawyers, women are breaking all the traditional fashion boundaries in the workplace and teaching us that there is a way to be taken seriously without having to compromise style. #1 Hillary ClintonStarting with none other than Hillary Clinton. Her signature pantsuits and impeccable style have won the nation and fashion police over! Image Source: goo.gl/ymO7SL (Getty) #2 Margaret ThatcherThe former PM cleverly refined her clothing to reflect her rising power. The pussycat bows of her early career were ditched. She stopped wearing hats, seen as too middle class, to appeal to the widest possible demographic. Instead, she came to favour tailored suits with matching handbags and low Ferragamo heels – ideal for state functions and the televising of Parliament. She could adapt this look for different locations: blue for Conservative party conferences, adding fur in Russia and often incorporating the colour of the national flag of the country she was visiting. Image Source : Terry O'Neill/Getty Images #3 Michella ObamaThe most fashion-conscious first lady is a very modern sort of power dresser. She’s almost always seen in strong, structured outfits, yet doesn’t shy away from bold colours or graphic prints. This shoot from The Verge completely does her justice! Image source: The Verge #4 Amal ClooneyThe celebrated human rights lawyer and international activist has been lauded for her versatile taste, described as "playful, professional & polished," by Harper's Bazaar. Image Source : Getty Images #5 Sheryl SandbergFacebook COO and Lean In author Sheryl Sandberg said in an interview with The Guardian that she doesn't like to get too "fashiony"--a sentiment in keeping with her book, which advocates for women to be up front with who they are and what they want. But figuring out the ideal match can be a delicious, yet difficult endeavor. The same as wine and food pairing, there are a lot of possibilities, for instance, tannin, acidity, texture, and fat. Here we will divide the artful world of wine and cheese pairing into 4 parts, then you will design your own wine and cheese pairing menu on your own. Image Source: Virginia Pinheiro Now, let’s start to sort cheese into 4 main kinds: Bloomy: Decadent and Creamy cheeses, won the softer end.
Blue: Pungent, often salty cheeses, always comes with a blue tinge. Fresh: Usually spreadable and soft cheeses that could be tangy or mild. Not usually aged.
If you have a specific cheese in mind, first contemplate the category it belongs to. You can then consult our wine and cheese pairing examples for ideas. Very similar to food or any other type of pairing, you are heading the right direction if you want to go with either complementary or contrasting flavors. A triple-cream cheese goes well with a lush wine, in contrast, the sweetness in cheese can be cut by an acidic wine. I’d suggest you taste the cheese first by itself in order to get a fair sense of its character, and then try out another bite with wine, can be few different type, you will get an idea how they mingle with each other. Many experts say white wine tends to pair with cheese better in the comparison of white, but a light-bodied red wine and cheese pairing is very much doable. Wine and Cheese Pairing Examples: Cheese Wine Bloomy Camembert Champagne Brie Chardonnay Robiola Sparkling Wine Taleggio Pinot Blanc Hard Gouda Merlot Cheddar Cabernet Sauvignon Parmesan Chianti Double Gloucester Zinfandel Pecorino Valpolicella Gruyere Sauvignon Blanc Fontina Bardolino Blue Gorgonzola Port Stilton Sauternes Blue Riesling Cambozola Eiswein Fresh Ricotta Pinot Grigio Mozzarella Sauvignon Blanc Goat Chenin Blanc Feta Beaujolais Burrata Tocai Friulano Image Source: Meal Planner Pro
